Employers don’t backfill positions when someone is out on leave or sick. So they decide to dump that person’s workload in the existing team members who already have a ton on their plate.

I began experiencing derealization the winter of my 11th year in high school almost instantly when the war in my family’s country, Ukraine, started. I also started using marijuana to cope and dissociate from the reality the very next day. This first attempt to cope brought on my first derealization episode. It felt like my mind travelled back in time 50 years and I saw everything around me for what it was, for the first time. This often looks like seeing things in a more depressing, darker, dustier, and distant way. Other episodes zoomed me out of my body and really did feel like “cotton” in my head. For 3 months straight I used weed and dissociated very frequently. Some days I remember experiencing episodes every 5 minutes. It really is like being taken out of your body. You feel isolated from everything and everyone around you. Over time the episodes became less and less occurring after I decided to stop using marijuana and told myself I would change the way I saw trauma so I can overcome it. If this is you, stay strong and you’re not alone. 🫶

there is so much left unsaid in this video. we experience intense emotions, sometimes in rapid succession, which are difficult to regulate, and strong emotional responses to others' behaviors which greatly complicate maintaining relationships. often, coping involves adapting entirely to please someone else, ignoring their flaws to maintain stability of our responses, or, when that fails, sending them straight to hell. this coping mechanism known as splitting, helps manage overwhelming emotions without the need for moderation.

18 is definitely developed enough to be considered an adult. Even with emotional regulation differences. Other anecdotal defenses for infantilization come from society's worsening upbringing of young people.

I actually don't have any issue with multiple types being identifiable to a person. Depending on the source type descriptions can be pretty specific, it's not vague. And if humans really did have 9 tendencies as the enneagram describes, they probably should be things that many can identify with. On a personal note, there are types I strongly DISidentify with.

Most mental health disorders are pathologized incorrectly and are simply symptoms of capitalism run amock. Capitalism causes trauma inequality poverty drug addiction, Which in turn caused stress which as many studies have shown the body is affected extremely by stress, We now know that there is no such thing as the mind the body basically runs our mental health.

I have a few decent sized gaps in my childhood memory. I have had fragments of memories come back up. Some are complete enough that I have an idea what supposedly happened. Others are not quite there yet, and I’d rather keep them i my subconscious where I put them in the first place. I don’t know if they are accurate. I don’t want to know. I know I had some childhood trauma and have done all the therapy and I don’t want to have to go through the early processing and healing again.

The study that was tracking the maturation of the frontal lobe actually ended without finding any stopping of development at 25, but they didn’t have resources to continue following the participants. So we don’t actually know when or even IF the frontal lobe stops "maturing", only that if it does, it stops well AFTER 25.

I’ve been going to therapy since I was 13 because I’ve had these ongoing thoughts that’s hard to describe, it’s like I wake up, I move around, but I’m not myself, it’s not my body, I don’t own my body I just float in it or around it? It’s hard to explain, everything always feels foggy and dreamlike like nothing is real like its a show or a movie and I’m in a repetition of the same day over and over, I have memory blanks and I only remember certain years of my life, I only remember being 13, 17 and 19, I feel like I’ve lost most of my memories and that they aren’t my memories at all, sometimes I wonder if what I remember actually happend or if I made it up, I have severe hallucinations and I’ve had them since I was 12, maybe before? I don’t remember anything before 13. It feels like I’m not the only one who is in my body and that there are two, I am female but I am not? I am just a body but it isn’t even mine. There are two of us, there’s me and there him, It feels tiring everyday I wake up and it’s the same day again and again, I’ve been diagnosed with Clinical depression at 12 but I have always stopped my sessions with a therapist once they want to test me for anything or diagnose me for anything, I’m constantly suicidal but I can’t kill myself? It’s like I don’t have control. My therapist is trying to get me to go to an early psychosis treatment course but I’m starting to think I should stop seeing her again, it’s like I want to know why I feel like this but I don’t want the answer. I don’t know if I’m scared to know but I want to stop feeling like this, but I can’t.

I always thought mental illness and trauma could be a risk factor for autoimmune diseases but I never really thought about it working the other way around. I wonder if it‘s just that the pain, sickness and stress that come with autoimmune diseases make people mentally ill or if the immune system itself could directly cause or exacerbate mental un-wellness.

Im judt watching this vid bc idk how im feeling rn.. i keep doubting if its stress or im just over thinking. My parents work all day so i didnt really talk much to them. I have a older brother who i talked to a lot and did all that relatable sibling things. But last year we had a silly fight and bc if that we stopped talking and now we can actually talk to each other but its not the same as it used to be. During quarantine i used to be at my phone 24/7 so i lost all my social skills even with my own family. Rn whenever my brother passes me or sits in the same room as me, i dont talk him. I just sit silent watching my mobile.. and i feel 'something' like maybe nervous when im talking to my mother while my brother is sitting right next to her. IT JUST HAPPENED AND I FELT SO NEEVOUS OR SOMETHING ELSE THAT I CANT EXPRESS. The whole time during that convo i was trying not to cry and once the convo ended and i came back to my room i started crying silently.. i keep thinking back if i was getting stressed at that moment cuz i had lost my social skills and became an introvert. Or im just overthinking.. haha I wrote this whole ass para just cuz im still not over that feeling
